As a reader of this blog, you are aware there are lots of bad drivers out there. Now there’s a place where you can be warned as well as warn others. PlateWire was started by Mark Buckman when he became furious of all the bad drivers on the road during his daily commute.
By allowing users to recreate the license plates of cars whose drivers are somewhat less than competent, Buckman is hoping to call attention to drivers who may only decide to operate their cars in an acceptable way when there is a police presence nearby.
PlateWire is update by commuters who post “wires” listing the plate and the offense. This can range from being a “poor lane changer”, all the way up (or down) to being a “F**KING MOTHERF*****” as New York plate ECV2687 purportedly is.
Buckman is hoping that he can “help people to be more aware of their unsafe habits and become self-accountable for their actions.”
Here’s hoping he is successful and does not become just another “Dumb Techie” like Nebraska plate TECH2GO has been deemed.

As the first weekend of the Do The Jingle contest came to a close, Dallas-based rock band Conspiracy Theory has jumped to second place in total votes and currently leads the field in the most viewed category, with over double the views of the vote-leading Pinnell Dancers.
While the Do The Jingle contest is still young, this is an encouraging sign for all AC/DC fans, as Conspiracy Theory belted out a SafeAuto jingle to the tune of the epic song “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap” one of my personal favorites.
While lead singer Dana Eddy bears no physical resemblance to Angus Young, he definitely nails the voice, and his lyrics are polished by really focusing on the benefits of the SafeAuto brand, much like Weird Al Yankovic serenading the benefits of eBay.
As the contest unfolds over the next two months, we will follow Conspiracy Theory closely to see which Australian rock band they more closely resemble; rockers with staying power like AC/DC, or flash in the pan pop rockers Savage Garden. For all of our sakes, hopefully the former.

The Do The Jingle contest has gotten off to a fast start and leading the way are the Pinnell Dancers from Columbus, OH. The Pinnell Dance Centre (yes, they spell it like that) put together a well choreographed dance routine to the standard that while technically not creating their own jingle, they have literally added a new twist to it. The Do The Jingle contest is still accepting new submissions as it runs until the end of January.
If the Pinnell Dance Centre wins the $5,000 grand prize, here’s hoping they open the Pinnell Dance Centre Grille complete with the official Gift Shoppe.
