Fake Car Insurance – Yes, It’s Out There.

by Jason Parks May 23, 2013 03:36 PM

After getting multiple auto insurance quotes each in the thousands of dollars range, you see a quote for just a few hundred and you think to yourself, “ding ding ding. We have a winner!” Well, hold on just a minute, before you click the “buy” button; consider whether this may be a fake car insurance scam.

According to the NASDAQ website, “An insurance card can be faked, either on paper or electronically. Many folks try it. But you can’t outrun the Internet. States are rapidly adopting real-time electronic verification systems that check for a current policy in seconds.”

So, how do you know if you’ve been given a quote for a fake company? If you receive a price that’s dramatically lower than the rest, especially from a company you’ve never heard of, that should warrant a little checking. Or, you can just visit www.safeauto.com, to get a quote for one of our state minimum auto insurance policies from a company you can trust.

Memorial Day Road Trip Statistics

by Jason Parks May 23, 2013 09:27 AM

Are you headed on a road trip this Memorial Day? If so, you’re not the only one. According to an article on BusinessWeek.com, AAA predicts that Memorial Day road trips will reach an eight-year high this year.

“Approximately 31.2 million Americans plan to drive to their destinations, up from 31.1 million who drove last year, according to Heathrow, Florida-based AAA, the biggest U.S. motoring organization.”

This means that a lot of cars will be packed with summer essentials as family and friends make the trek to their final destination. Many music playlists will be created for the road trip and drivers will be searching for the most affordable gas along the drive.

Memorial Day marks the beginning of summer and also the beginning of summer road trip season. If you have a great Memorial Day road trip planned, we want to hear about it. Joint the discussion using the hashtag #SAroadtrip and follow SafeAuto on Twitter.
