SafeAuto Insurance Company is introducing its new pricing strategy with new advertising featuring comedian Norm Macdonald.
Macdonald, a stand-up comedian, writer, producer, actor and “Saturday Night Live” cast member for five years, began appearing in advertising for the minimum-limits auto insurer last summer. “Norm Macdonald’s frank, unpretentious style is a lot like SafeAuto’s,” said Ron Davies, SafeAuto Chief Executive Officer. “We strive to meet the needs of our customers by giving them honest value.”
In one new commercial, Macdonald introduces “Fair Shake Pricing,” SafeAuto’s improved approach to determining rates that are more accurate for each, unique driver. “In this economy, nobody wants to spend more than they need to,” says Davies. “Every day, SafeAuto delivers the savings our customers demand.”
This newest wave of advertising will include television and radio commercials, web banners and outdoor boards. One of the first to break, a television commercial focusing on the perils of driving in bad weather, paired Macdonald with a group of penguins on loan from the Columbus Zoo. Macdonald was so impressed with the birds, he made a visit to the zoo after shooting ended.
