Arkansas Native Wins Second Drawing For ‘Norm’s Stuff Giveaway’

by Jason Parks May 20, 2013 01:21 PM

At SafeAuto Insurance, we provide affordable car insurance to drivers looking to stay ‘Legal For Less.’ We also give away prizes to reward our amazing social media following, which consists of over 35,000 fans.

The ‘Norm’s Stuff Giveaway’ contest was social media driven. Norm Macdonald, SafeAuto’s spokesperson, decided to give away an iPad, Beats by Dre Headphones and a digital camera on the cheap car insurance companies Facebook page.

Brian Moyers from Lemont, Illinois was the lucky winner of the iPad, which happened to be the first drawing. Christina Bandy from Fort Smith, Arkansas was the second winner, and she will receive the extremely popular Beats By Dre Headphones. Beats By Dre are an extremely popular headphone brand with a mission to provide a superior end-to-end music experience with an amazing HD sound system.

“I decided to look SafeAuto up on Facebook to see if there were customer reviews,” said Christina. “I had been a fan for a while before the ‘Norm’s Stuff Giveaway’ and just happened to see a post about it. I kept thinking of how amazing the prizes are and I’m also a big Norm Fan. I knew my chances were slim but decided to give it a shot.”

Luck was on Christina’s side as she was randomly selected as the winner from thousands of entrants. “I’m so glad I entered the contest!” Christina remarked. “I think it’s great when a company runs these contests. They’re not necessarily needed, but are really appreciated by the fans and consumers.”

SafeAuto enjoys keeping drivers insured for an affordable cost so they can drive legally. Making a difference in people’s lives in other ways, such as Christina’s, is also a great joy for SafeAuto. “Too many companies are just about a buck and don’t care about their customers. SafeAuto actually gives back! Thank you so much SafeAuto, I could have never of afforded this otherwise.”

SafeAuto Car Insurance - Experts at ‘The Minimum’

by Jason Parks May 8, 2013 02:42 PM

When it comes to doing the minimum, SafeAuto really does it the best. Our spokesperson Norm MacDonald wholeheartedly agrees and expresses this sentiment in the state minimum auto insurance company’s latest video.

Norm conveys this message by telling viewers that he thought he was good at doing the minimum, but when comparing himself to SafeAuto Insurance, he really has nothing on them. In fact, he even goes as far as to say that the folks at SafeAuto put him to shame!

What do you think about Norm’s minimum vs. SafeAuto’s? Share your thoughts on the SafeAuto Insurance Facebook page. For a free quote, visit www.safeauto.com.

Car Accident Statistics – What About the “Almost Accidents?”

by Jason Parks April 22, 2013 04:13 PM

When looking at car accident data, the data used is whatever has been collected from the car crashes that happen every day and every year. But what about the almost crashes? They’ve happened to everyone. The time you dropped your lipstick on the ground and almost swerved into the car next to you when you were bending down to pick it up. The time you almost hit that biker that literally appeared out of nowhere. The time you looked at your phone for a split second and almost went through a red light and right into the mini van across the street. How many times a day do these almost accidents happen? Well, we don’t really know because they are just that… Almost accidents.

Can the data from these incidents help to prevent those accidents that actually do happen? Transportation Alternatives in NYC thinks that it can. “The near-miss and minor crash data just doesn’t exist. There’s no way to capture it because it is, by nature, unofficial,” explains Jennifer So Godzeno, the associate director for community research at Transportation Alternatives. “I’ve heard from so many citizens that ‘I see people almost get hit here all the time, and how come we have to wait until someone gets killed in order to fix it?’”

So, in order to start fixing this problem, Transportation Alternatives recently rolled out a web platform, CRASH stories NYC, which invites New Yorkers to map their run-ins and near-misses.

Do you think that this is something that can help prevent some future crashes? Is this a platform that should be rolled out nationwide? We want to hear from you with your opinion. To share your thoughts, visit SafeAuto on Facebook. .
