SafeAuto Fight Team Member Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone!

SafeAuto Fight Team Member Donald Cerrone dominated Jeremy Stephens for 15 minutes at the UFC on FUEL 3 event in Fairfax, VA. ‘Cowboy’ couldn’t have responded any better in his dominating performance at the Patriot Center after coming off a disappointing loss to Nate Diaz in late December. The clear decision victory over Stephens was ‘Cowboy’s’ seventh win in his last eight fights and puts the Colorado native right back in the discussion for the UFC’s lightweight title picture.  

"The goal of this fight was to fight my fight and not get dragged in to anyone else's battle," Cerrone said. "(Nate) Diaz did a really good job of sucking me into his battle. Dictating the pace and fighting my own fight was the plan so I executed pretty good.”

The leader in state minimum auto insurance coverage was extremely pleased with ‘Cowboy’s’ performance. The SafeAuto logo received optimal exposure on Cerrone’s signature cowboy hat upon entering the Octagon. SafeAuto Fight Team Member Nate Diaz was victorious in Saturday nights' UFC on FOX Fight, as he submitted Jim Miller in the second round of their main event fight. Diaz came out strong in both rounds and once he was able to slip a guillotine choke on Miller, it was only a matter of time before Miller would tap out for the first time in his career.

With the win, Diaz has earned a title shot in the UFC lightweight division, as he will battle the winner of this summers' Benson Henderson-Frankie Edgar rematch.

Overnight TV ratings came in with UFC on FOX 3 bringing in 2.25 million viewers and coming in first in their time slot with the key demographic (18-49). The SafeAuto logo was extremely visible and received prime exposure throughout the entire country. 

Unfortunately, SafeAuto Fight Team Member John Cholish came up short in his bout against Danny Castillo. Castillo swept all three judges’ cards in the unanimous decision victory. Overall it was a great night for the UFC and for SafeAuto Insurance as both of their fighters put up a valiant effort.
