Down the Stretch They Come!

necknneck Heading into the final weekend of voting in the 2nd annual Do The Jingle contest, The Pinnell Dancers and Lady Rerun are running neck n’ neck as we head to the finish line.  As of this articles posting time, the Pinnell Dancers were holding onto a four vote lead in the Top 20. 

As everyone familiar to this contest knows, no lead is safe, as these two contestants have demonstrated that they have passionate and dedicated fan bases, willing to vote every hour to ensure their favorite entry is the winner.  It all comes down to the next few days, as the dancers from Columbus, Ohio look to edge out the singer/actress/radio host from Atlanta, Georgia.

There’s no telling who will pull it out and win the opportunity to star in an upcoming SafeAuto Insurance commercial, but there is no doubt that each of these contestants is worthy of being the next star.

Keep visiting the Do The Jingle site and registering your vote as you can decide who the next winner will be.  Every vote counts!

the server sucks.  half the time i try to vote I get the "we are experiencing technical difficulties" message.

Imagine what this site will be like on the last day of voting.

Unfortunately, heavy voting traffic sometimes does that.  When people try to vote multiple times from the same IP address within the hour, it tends to slow it down as well.  My suggestion is to keep trying to vote only once per hour to avoid error messages.  We also see the last day of voting as being very heavy, and we will continue to monitor the site.

What really bothers me is all the nastiness that goes on the Pinnell dancers site.  They truly don't deserve that at all. They are only kids and have been working incredibly hard.  They are not leaving nasty comments on other sites at all but getting blamed for doing so by imposters.  They are a great bunch of kids and appreciate all the support they are receiving and have been so excited by this contest.  Keep voting.

I agree, Christine.  Some of the comments being left on the Pinnell site (as well as comments being left on other contestant sites which are being attributed to the Pinnell girls) are beyond ridiculous.  What is worse is that it hasn't stopped there.  One of my friends, whose daughter is a Pinnell student, told me that some of the trolls have been leaving nasty voice mail messages at the studio.

Hopefully SafeAuto will rethink how the contest is run next year so that this doesn't happen again.

the dancers should be disqualified anyways because they are not recreating the jingle, when the website clearly states "They are looking for a person or group that can re-create the best version of their famous SafeAuto Jingle". The dancers are just dancing to it, and should therefore be disqualified.

Portia not only made an à capella version of the jingle but also told a very creative and convincing story. She worked on the musical side of the commercial, recreated the jingle and deserves to win.

I've watched the video several times.  There is no indication that there is a lack of coordination or a lack of rhythm on their parts.  They are dancing.  

It is my opinion that, because you are championing Portia, you are expressing the opinion that the girls are jumping around in order to discredit what they are doing.
