Police Use Giant Bunny to Nab Traffic Violators

by Elie Deshe April 14, 2010 09:41 AM

bunny The Glendale, AZ police department cited 24 motorists for failing to yield after an officer dressed up in a giant bunny costume and repeatedly crossed one of the busiest streets in town.  While this may be confusing to people returning from watching Alice in Wonderland in 3D, the tickets were very real, as were the educational “talks” that the officers did with violating drivers.

Fortunately, the officer in the bunny costume was not hit by any drivers, and there is no word on how such an accident would affect the drivers auto insurance rates.  Whether it would be classified as hitting a pedestrian or simply roadkill, there is no doubt that the giant rabbit was creepy memorable for all drivers whose paths he crossed.
