There are many traffic laws that we as drivers must follow while getting from “a to b.” These laws vary from state to state, but all serve one common purpose: to keep us safe on the road. In “Liar Liar,” Fletcher Reed (Jim Carrey) gets pulled over for a number of reasons, and he can tell you which ones too. However, there are laws that do exist that are, let’s say, bizarre.
An article found on CNN.com/AOL lists just a snippet of unusual traffic laws that exist in these United States. Here are some of our favorites:
- In California, no vehicle without a driver can exceed 60 miles per hour.
- In Florida, if an elephant, goat or alligator is left tied to a parking meter, the parking fee has to be paid just as it would for a vehicle.
- In Montana, it is illegal to have a sheep in the cab of your truck without a chaperone.
- In Tennessee, it is illegal shoot any game other than whales from a moving automobile.
- In Oregon, a door on a car may not be left open longer than necessary.
Be careful not only of how you drive, but also make sure you have a chaperone for your sheep. I wonder how these regulations fit in with auto insurance. For more unusual laws, check out the entire article. And remember to always Play it Safe!
