SafeAuto Fight Team Member Jake Ellenberger took a fight against solid MMA veteran Sean Person on just 17 days notice. The fight at UFC 129® happened to be in front of a record UFC® crowd of 55,724 people at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. “The Juggernaut” lived up to all of the pressure surrounding the bout by knocking out Pierson in just over two and a half minutes.
Ellenberger landed a monstrous left hook just above Pierson’s right eye at the 2:42 mark of the first round. Pierson collapsed to the floor and had to be saved by the referee. The knockout was almost as quick as obtaining a free SafeAuto Insurance quote.
Ellenberger has now won four fights in a row and is considered a serious contender in the UFC® welterweight division. The Juggernaut is now 2-0 as a member of the SafeAuto Fight Team. He previously defeated Carlos Rocha back on February 5, 2011.
