  • Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone Defeats Jeremy Stephens at UFC on FUEL

    SafeAuto Fight Team Member Donald Cerrone dominated Jeremy Stephens for 15 minutes at the UFC on FUEL 3 event in Fairfax, VA. ‘Cowboy’ couldn’t have responded any better in his dominating performance at the Patriot Center after coming off a disappointing loss to Nate Diaz in late December. The clear decision victory over Stephens was ‘Cowboy’s’ seventh win in his last eight fights and puts the Colorado native right back in the discussion for the UFC’s lightweight title picture.  

    "The goal of this fight was to fight my fight and not get dragged in to anyone else's battle," Cerrone said. "(Nate) Diaz did a really good job of sucking me into his battle. Dictating the pace and fighting my own fight was the plan so I executed pretty good.”

    The leader in state minimum auto insurance coverage was extremely pleased with ‘Cowboy’s’ performance. The SafeAuto logo received optimal exposure on Cerrone’s signature cowboy hat upon entering the Octagon. Once inside the cage, the red SA insignia was clearly visible on Cerrone’s trunks as he controlled the fight from the opening second.  “I’m honored to be on the SafeAuto team,” said Cerrone. “It’s good that these guys really care about their fighters.”

  • SafeAuto Fight Team Member Nate Diaz Defeats Jim Miller At UFC ON FOX 3!

    SafeAuto Fight Team Member Nate Diaz was victorious in Saturday nights' UFC on FOX Fight, as he submitted Jim Miller in the second round of their main event fight. Diaz came out strong in both rounds and once he was able to slip a guillotine choke on Miller, it was only a matter of time before Miller would tap out for the first time in his career.

    With the win, Diaz has earned a title shot in the UFC lightweight division, as he will battle the winner of this summers' Benson Henderson-Frankie Edgar rematch.

    Overnight TV ratings came in with UFC on FOX 3 bringing in 2.25 million viewers and coming in first in their time slot with the key demographic (18-49). The SafeAuto logo was extremely visible and received prime exposure throughout the entire country. 

    Unfortunately, SafeAuto Fight Team Member John Cholish came up short in his bout against Danny Castillo. Castillo swept all three judges’ cards in the unanimous decision victory. Overall it was a great night for the UFC and for SafeAuto Insurance as both of their fighters put up a valiant effort.

  • SafeAuto Insurance Announces Sponsorship Deal For Alan Belcher

    VFD Sports announced a sponsorship deal between SafeAuto Insurance and UFC middleweight fighter Alan Belcher.  The deal will be for Belcher’s upcoming fight against Rousimar Palhares at UFC on FOX 3 in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Saturday, May 5.

    "I'm honored to be sponsored by SafeAuto and I look forward to putting on a show in front of millions of viewers," Belcher said.  As part of the sponsorship deal, Belcher will enter the UFC Octagon wearing a SafeAuto logo on his fight shorts and banner. 

    Belcher is the latest addition to the rapidly growing SafeAuto Fight Team. The Columbus, Ohio based state minimum auto insurance specialist has a strong presence within the UFC as their logo and brand are consistently being promoted throughout the mixed martial arts world.

  • SafeAuto’s Presence Felt in Atlanta for UFC® 145

    SafeAuto Insurance had an unforgettable weekend in Atlanta, Georgia as the UFC® invaded the Peach State. The state-minimum auto insurance carrier was the official sponsor of the UFC® 145 Tailgate Party at Centennial Park in the downtown Atlanta area. Thousands of fight fans visited the SafeAuto booth on an overcast Saturday afternoon as a surprise guest arrived to sign autographs.

    Clay Guida, an official member of the SafeAuto Fight Team and one of the more recognizable faces in the UFC, signed autographs for three hours for crazed fans at the SafeAuto Insurance booth. Despite the long line, “The Carpenter” signed every last autograph and posed for photos with the patient fans.

    “Wow, I wasn’t expecting this type of turnout,” remarked Guida. “It’s humbling to know that thousands of fans are anxious to meet me. I’ve always enjoyed interacting with my fans, the turnout at the SafeAuto Insurance booth today was incredible!”

    Fans Had Their Game Face on at the SafeAuto UFC 145 Tailgate Party!

    As the SafeAuto Tailgate Party concluded, fans headed down the street to Phillips Arena for UFC® 145. SafeAuto Fight Team member Travis “Hapa” Brown, was looking to make a lasting impression in the heavyweight division as he took on Chad Griggs. After a vicious knee to the head, Brown was able to take control of Griggs on the ground and force his opponent to tap out midway through the first round en route to victory.

    The win by the 6’7 fighter known as the “Flyin Hawaiian” made it known to the fighting community that Brown is a force to be reckoned with in the heavyweight division. A heavyweight bout between Travis Browne (13-0-1 MMA, 4-0-1 UFC) and Ben Rothwell (32-8 MMA, 2-2 UFC) was the most recent addition to this summer’s UFC on FOX 4 fight card.

    As Travis Browne continues his mission to become the heavyweight champion, SafeAuto Insurance will continue to represent popular fighters in an effort to make mixed martial art fans aware that they are the strongest auto insurance company in the UFC®.
